ORLANDO, Fla. -- A former police officer is circulating a petition to remove Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer from office. Samuel Ings has started the "Recall Buddy Dyer Committee."

Back in March, Dyer was indicted on charges that he paid someone to collect absentee ballots. He didn't go to trial, because the prosecutor believed he didn't intend to break the law.

Dyer signed a deal agreeing he wouldn't make that mistake again. Ings thinks Dyer shouldn't be allowed in office, since he wasn't cleared of wrongdoing.

"This deal was a disgrace to Orlando and the judicial process," Ings said.

Mayor Dyer issued a statement calling Ings and his group "sore losers" and went on to say, "This is nothing more than an attempt to rehash the definitive resolution of the voters, the courts, and the ethics commission."
